4. Cadbury – Unity Bar (2019, Ogilvy & Mather, 4 million+ views)
Symbolizing unity in diversity, Cadbury’s “Unity Bar” chocolate—combining dark, milk, and white—became a metaphorical and viral hit, cleverly representing the melting pot of Indian culture around Independence Day celebrations.
5. Bajaj Avenger – “Show Your Patriotism” (2017, Mullen Lintas Mumbai, 31 million views)

Celebrating both Britannia’s and the nation’s journey post-1947, this witty campaign used the brand’s legacy to drive home the message of shared milestones and national pride during the 75th Independence Day.
7. Tata Tea Premium – “Desh Ka Kulhad” / “Desh Ke Dhaage” (2021–2022, Mullen Lintas, 1.7 million views)

8. Hero MotoCorp – #HeroSalutes (2018, Law & Kenneth Saatchi & Saatchi, 2.1 million views)
This moving tribute honored not just soldiers but also their families—the silent heroes behind the scenes. With millions of views across platforms, it remains one of the most celebrated Independence Day commercials.
9. Tata Tiscon – #RememberingNationBuilders (2018, Wunderman Thompson, 88k Views)
Tata Tiscon’s “#RememberingNationBuilders” was a unique tribute campaign that honored the often unsung heroes of India’s growth—the real “nation builders”. The goal was to shift the conversation on nation-building from the stereotypical icons to the hands actually building the nation—quite literally. The campaign’s emotionally resonant messaging asked viewers to “remember the real nation builders,” inspiring gratitude and respect for the labor force at the heart of India’s development.
This approach not only elevated Tata Tiscon’s brand by connecting it with the values of gratitude, respect, and nation-building, but also positioned its rebar products as the backbone of the infrastructure supporting the country’s growth. The campaign was celebrated for its social awareness and for humanizing an unseen, yet essential, segment of society.
**I have talked in depth about this campaign as I felt ashamed and couldn’t recognize many unsung heroes and builders of Modern India!
10. JSW Paints- Think Beautiful (2024, TBWA\India, 8.2 million views)
This campaign highlights the significance of the colour blue in the national flag, using a heartwarming narrative with schoolchildren, and reflects both national unity and the beauty of India’s diversity. JSW can be credited for bringing sports other than cricket to the fore by providing world class sports infrastructure to Indian athletes. This campaign will definitely make you chuckle and thus, it is the last campaign in my list.
Indian advertisers have a brilliant creative brain so, the above list is not complete in itself. As an author, I am happy to receive more Independence day themed advertising campaign names in the comments box or on my linkedin messages.
