You wont believe me if I told you that your screen time is more than 5 hours per day! A study suggests that Millennials spend an average of 6.7 hours per day on at least one screen (mostly mobile) while Gen Z spends more than 7 hours per day on a screen! Compare the screen time with the need to get ahead of the others with respect to technology! In today’s technology enabled world, there is a new technology entering our mobile screens every few months and companies have found better and more immersive ways to gather our attention! Metaverse is one technological shift that is going to change the way we consume brands and their products. However, since Metaverse is in infant stage at least in India, they have already become big crowd-pullers in western countries!
In India, currently, there is a dearth on reading material on Metaverse. I visited Om Book store and many other bookstores in Delhi a few days back and on asking for Metaverse related books, I couldn’t find any! I was really disappointed. When a technology is new and there is a need to create awareness around it, the best path to follow is the long form content path, so that the consumer stays focused for a longer period of time and for better understanding. Long form content are expressed via Books, Blogs (like these), Videos or Podcasts. If you are looking to learn about concepts and happenings in metaverse without increasing your screen time, you might as well spend some time hearing podcasts on metaverse.

I have been following this podcast channel on metaverse for quite some time. Though the frequency of the podcast is not regular but the length of episodes is 30-40 minutes (which is ideal) and the topics are well thought out!

This is one prominent example of a Podcast on Metaverse that held a lot of promise but now is dormant! Bloomberg Intelligence had initiated a well planned podcast on metaverse that saw great industry insights and people from the cutting edge getting interviewed. One of the best episodes of the podcast was with Rev Lebaredian. Rev, the Vice President of Omniverse and Simulation at Nvidia, showed the Omniverse strategy, building interoperability in the metaverse and the possibilities to carry items between metaverse experiences.
